Rev. Dr. A. T. Turkson - Founder and President
Rev. Dr. A. T. Turkson obtained a Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) from the Accra Polytechnic in Accra,
Ghana, West Africa. He continued his education at the Institute of Professional Studies there, where he
successfully completed the Foundation and Intermediate parts of the examination of the Institute of Chartered
Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA).
In January 1983, Rev. Turkson proceeded to England to undertake a course of study for the final parts of the ICSA
examination at the London School of Accountancy, specializing in General and Financial Administration. He also
has an advanced English Language Certificate from the Royal Society of Arts, London, England.
In the area of theology and ministry, Rev. Turkson has been ministering actively since January 1982 and
possesses a Bachelor of Religious Education degree, a Masters degree in Theology, and a Doctor of Philosophy
degree (December, 1996).
Dr. Turkson is the founder and pastor of World Missions Ministries, which has churches in Clinton, MD, Springfield,
VA, and an evangelistic outreach in Washington, D.C. as part of God’s mandate on his life to penetrate the
darkness of the world with the true light of Jesus. Pastor Turkson has taught and oversees Bible Study classes
conducted in corporate and government offices weekly in the
Washington, D.C. area, in such organizations as:
- The US Pentagon (1987 – 1990) - The World Bank (1987 – Present)
- The Federal Aviation Administration (1988 – 1998) - The International Monetary Fund
- The US State Department - The Department of Interior
- The National Rehabilitation Hospital - PEPCO
- The Export/Import Bank - The Veterans Administration
He completed Communication and Newsletter Design Certificate courses by The American Management
Association, which testifies to his continued commitment to the institutional development of WMMBC & Seminary.
He has also completed Radio Broadcasting, Audience Psychology in Film, and TV production courses with the
Fairfax Cable Access Corporation, and currently hosts the True Light Radio and Television teaching broadcast on
WFAX AM 1220 from 2:00 pm to 2:15 pm and on the Internet (www.worldmissionsministries.org). The True Light
TV broadcast is on several community cable access stations.
Rev. Turkson is married to Meg Turkson and they have four children.
